rees editor - about
just out of film school (emerson) i said to a friend "the last thing i ever want to be is an editor" - funny how things turn out - 1995 i got a job making cappuccinos and cheese plates at 525 post production (the epicenter of music video finishing at the time) and taught myself how to put stuff together - a year later i was an "editor" at 525 with an actual business card - i cut a demo reel for the company and it got nominated for a monitor award (it seemed like a big deal, i mean people wore tuxedos and it was at the biltmore) but i lost to an oprah winfrey show clip reel - i recovered and have cut a little bit of everything over the years - from the early days of reality at mtv to no budget features to fx laden spots (back when fx cost more than a house) and always music videos (somewhere around 7 billion youtube views last time i drank enough to check) - i just like being a part of making things that are cool to watch - i'll probably keep on till i die -
